"My love, my love, my love, my love, shines on, and on, and on!"

How can you wear a hippie-style floral maxi dress dress but not look unkempt? While I love costumes, it's not always the right time and place to dress quite like Janis Joplin. I pulled it off by not going too bohemian on the accessories, except for a pair of turquoise fringe sandals that are a bit seventies. Wearing a somewhat preppy gold braided belt and a gold and gray chain-link purse with a basket weave front tones the look down. In addition, doing your hair in a style other than messy, flowing locks looks more modern and less like you are a gypsy. Of course it's definitely fine to take a photo with a gypsy wall painting if you do see one!

I did my hair in an interesting but quite easy style, just braiding it halfway down on the side and wrapping the ends so it turns into a ponytail. I was thinking of doing a quick and easy youtube hairstyle tutorial sometime soon of things that I like to do if anyone might be interested!

Outfit Highlights: Vintage dress from my mom when she used to live in Saudi Arabia and Francesca's green flower stud earrings

Style Tip: Always belt a maxi dress that's not fitted! I personally would only not belt a dress if it was a short trapeze of shift mod-style dress. Otherwise it just swallows you up.
