"Took A Bus to Chinatown, I'd be standing on Canal and Bowery..."

This series of photos is also from the photoshoot I did back a few months ago with some design school friends. Xiatong Zhao created this stunning and interesting dress design that was perfect to shoot in Chinatown. It reminded me of Origami and Asian paperfolding, which was not strictly Japanese, historically. To me this dress is a show-stopper and perfect for a formal event where unique attire is encouraged, or any red carpet event. While we were taking photos the entire street was watching us, which was funny. I tried to assure them we were just young people having fun and it wasn't some serious, proper magazine shoot! Other design work and photos by Xiatong can be found on her website so please check out this amazing, innovative young designer if you haven't already.

Style Tip: Pick one small way to accent a major color statement, such as matching lipstick and then keep the rest of your accessories or beauty story simple.

Song of the Day: "Hey Ho" by The Lumineers
