"If you gave me a chance I would take it; it's a shot in the dark but I'll make it"

I performed for the first time in five years (high school) with my friend last night at a coffeehouse in Brooklyn! Maybe next time I'll announce the next one, but this time we just invited a few friends and were quite nervous. It was so much fun though! The next big things that I'm excited for, to end the summer with a bang, are the Jazz Age Lawn Party next weekend and my trip to San Francisco for a long Labor Day getaway to see my sister. I will definitely Instagram plenty of photos of the two, and blog about my outfits as the summer comes to the close, and we make the most of the weeks we have left with long, bright evenings. Luckily in the city, it's rooftop season until September and sometimes even October, but many summer events general end around Labor Day. I never loved summer until I lived in NYC where there are extra free and fun things to do, from street markets to outdoor dining, from to rooftop parties to outdoor concerts, from to boat rides to just the simple fact that you don't need coatcheck! I don't want to think about the fact that it's almost makes me so sad!

Summertime and the livin's still definitely easy in a pair of these easy, breezy wide-leg pants. I love how comfortable pants like this are, and they come in so many different kinds of prints all over the stores now. You can go from wearing them out around town to lounging in your house with them. I paired them with a simple tank, a fedora, wedges, and an owl necklace that was 1$ from a yard sale in Astoria. Plus, I have to add that my handmade bracelet was from a very special friend that brought it back for me from her trip to Africa!

Outfit Highlights: Wide-leg pants from a discount store in Astoria, Queens. There's a ton of cute clothes and great imported buys around the Broadway and Steinway Street areas of the neighborhood! I can't wait to explore even more shops. I have my eye on a dress for my California trip that I walked by in a window...

Style Tip: Wear a fitted top with oversized bottoms or vice versa.

Song of the Day: "Rather Be" by Clean Bandit

Sometimes, I really do like a Top 40 song like this one! And the video is fantastic.
