"I'm happy, I'm happy. Your birthday brings a pardoning."

My first blogpost was on November 4, 2013. That means I've been blogging for a little over a year! I started my blog with the name "Chic Shoes Chick", but I'm glad that I changed it to Modern Romantic, which is a more classic and all encompassing name. I can't thank you enough if you've followed me on my fun fashion escapades or even checked out one post! I appreciate all of the support and I'd also like to thank everyone besides Ben Benson who has helped me take photos or provided me with cool clothing or shoot ideas/places. It is just such a fun side project that allows me to express myself and I love being able to write regularly at my will. I also enjoy being a part of fashion week since I moved into the film and costume world. I still adore fashion and this blog has been such a fun journey the past year.

A few weeks ago Ben Benson and I were wandering around his neighborhood in the Upper East Side and ran into some cute balloons so I figured I would save the photos for a birthday blogpost! While balloons are sort of cheesy, it's not everyday you walk down the street and happen upon yellow smiley face ones so I felt obligated. This look is comprised of Anna Sui maroon wedges, black lace thigh highs, a floppy hat and a simple, comfy skirt and shirt. I've started wearing braids again a lot more because my hair is just getting too darn long and I need to tame it! Hopefully they don't have the little girl stigma these days.

It's also my birthday this coming Tuesday on November 11! I'll be turning 24 years young and I'm excited to have the day off and spend it with my mom who's coming into visit. But for now it's a Saturday and it's time to celebrate with close friends and my boyfriend who came in to visit and be crazy 20-year-olds while we can! Hoorah for celebrating another wonderful year of being alive and healthy.

Outfit Highlights: My beloved Anna Sui wedges are back for another season!

Style Tip: I got my black lace thigh highs from my local drugstore for a few dollars. I am not sure why they sell basic or lacey tight options at most drugstores but I love it!
