"It was the first snowflake to fall before the storm; no one noticed..."

I had so much fun doing a recent early morning photoshoot in Central Park with just the perfect amount of snow still dusting the ground. While the early light was beautiful enough to begin with, Shang of Saavedra Photography captured the ethereal mood of the morning just brilliantly. Her gorgeous photos are some of my favorite that I've ever featured on my blog before! I was inspired a little bit by the world of Narnia and also slightly by the1970's outfit and concept-wise. We went for a whimsical and upbeat, yet slightly dreamy feeling for these photos.

I'm wearing a wool cape with fur collar, handmade by my mother. Several times during the shoot Shang told me to think of her, which definitely made me smile! Wearing tall riding boots and lace-up leather gloves gives the look a British twist, and I am rarely found without my Under Armour leggings in the wintertime. My mom also made the plaid jumper peeking out from below. Stayed tuned for my second post of the week featuring the dress!

If you are looking for a New York City-based photographer for weddings or portraits, I cannot recommend Savvedra Photography enough! She was very efficent and a pleasure to work with, and as you can tell her skills are phenomenal.

Style Tips: Attaching fur onto a collar is a fun way to update last year's outerwear whether or not it is something you handmade like my cape. Check out stores like Zara and Topshop for faux fur pieces, or if you purchase real fur make sure it was acquired humanely!
