The Villains of the Moon Are Doomed

Apparently it's hard for me to even blog once a week anymore! I can't believe how busy this week has been with insane 12-15 hour work days, errands, creative outside work, and social activities. Here are a few simple photos from last weekend in my awesome Anna Sui t-shirt dress with Sid and Nancy, an iconic couple that reminds me how precious every day of life is! Anna Sui herself actually took the photo years ago when she frequented the rock scene. I can only imagine the vibrant energy around all of the classic and infamous bands. For some reason I'm wearing fake glasses because why not add a little nerd edge to the rock and roll?

"Amethyst and flowers on the table, is it real or a fable?"

This past weekend I got to see my favorite artist Sufjan Stevens perform for the first time in my life! It was a magical weekend spent with my mother in the city. I didn't have much time to do serious blogging but she took these photos of me near the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum which has some gorgeous architecture and is the former home of Andrew Carnegie. It was early Spring weather and there were some winds blowing, so I wore socks and tights with my prarie boots, a blazer, and a colorful ensemble underneath. I'm actually wearing a paisley tunic inside my favorite mustard pencil skirt. I always like putting bows in my hair whenever I remember to if it suits my ensemble!

"My baby lives in shades of blue. Blue eyes and jazz and attitude."

When I throw on a thick sweater or medium weight jacket with this look it's the perfect transitioning look for early Spring time! It was really nice and sunny when I took these photos though, so I shed my sweater which was also a dark blue. I love head-to-toe monochromatic looks. Slightly different shades of blue make for an especially fun ensemble if you have blue eyes! Just make sure none of the shades clash with one another. I'm wearing a floral dress which is partly sheer, with thick knit wintery tights but a summery square basket purse. I've been dying to break out this bag and it's finally just about warm enough! Soon I'll be able to ditch the tights and hat, but for now I kind of enjoying mixing various items from different seasons.

Style Tips: Go monochromatic with various hues of your chosen color! Don't forget to add a bit of contrast like my gold purse hardware and jewelry.
