NYFW Special: Michael Costello

The Michael Costello Spring/Summer 2016 fashion show was a grand affair, full of his signature gowns that he made his mark with on Project Runway a few years prior. He designed in both nude tones and colors this season, most notably in a bright magenta that many bold women tend to gravitate toward. I, myself preferred the more subtle gowns in peaches and whites as much as I love color, because his pieces are so detailed that a simple hue is almost all that's needed. However, I did really love the bright yellow he used on some simpler, more flowing designs. One of the most memorable aspects of his collection was the caped gowns throughout- they added a little structure and surprise to what would have been more expected pieces. Overall, Costello did a fantastic job with both providing his customer with wearable pieces as well as new ideas to try.
