NYFW 2016: Libertine

Photos by Nick DeLieto

Libertine's F/W 2016 collection was an explosion of color and patterns picketing down the runway, literally! The theme for the show evoked 70s political movements not only in terms of the signs some of the models walked with or the statements literally sewn on the clothes but with plenty of straight up lavish hippie garbs. Fur, patchwork, fringe, suede, embellishment, and graphics made an appearance. A nice fresh edge was brought in with the capes on several of the women. Libertine also mixed in plenty of wearable neutrals, especially in the menswear. Now this coming fall, will we als be seeing these uneven hairstyles on the streets?
